Since the age of 15, I worked very hard as a cook in my fathers pizza shop. When my friends used to go out partying on the weekends, I was taking the subway to work downtown Friday-Sunday 9am-3am (18 hour shifts) with only 3 hours of sleep in between. As a young boy I managed to save $10,000 over a few years of hard work and used that money as a down payment on a condo at Bayview & Shepard. When it came time to get a mortgage, a mortgage specialist told me that I could not be approved. So I went into the bank and found a contact that approved my mortgage. when I decided to get into the mortgage business, I put a small ad in the local newspaper. I immediately started getting calls and referrals from clients. There was a point in time where I would be talking to clients on the phone and making pizza at the same time, covered in flour. It was time to leave my dads shop and open my own mortgage office. Off I went and started pre- approving clients applications and asking them to hire a realtor to find them a house, but they would keep coming back asking if I could find them a house. Obviously I turned them down as I was not licenced.

Over the years clients kept coming back and saying “Alex we want you to be our realtor”. They pushed me into real estate and am I glad they did, I haven’t stopped since. One day Kate and I were selling our own house and after interviewing many stagers, my wife said to me ” I know I can do a better job”. We gave it a try and people were simply astonished. They could not believe their eyes how beautiful the house looked designed by Kate. This is how my wife and I got to where we are today. If anyone tells you that you can’t, prove them wrong by showing them that you can. We didn’t come from a wealthy family, not even close. We got to where we are today because of hard work, commitment, dedication and passion. This is our story.
